What is Yoga?

Yoga is one of the oldest systems of personal development in the world – a system of exercise that works the entire body and mind. Established more than 2000 years ago by ancient Indian sages the system was and is, intended to balance the body, mind and spirit to create harmony at every level.

Yoga pupils learn through a carefully graded and systematic programme of asana (postures). Pranayama (breath control) is gradually introduced when a firm foundation of practise is established.

Yoga practise both relaxes and energises. It brings vitality, flexibility, strength, concentration, self-confidence and mental calm.
